Kiltipper Woods Care Centre has an established independent advocate and resident committee. Residents are very welcome to attend the regular monthly meetings and are encouraged to voice their opinion, offer suggestions, and share in the decision making process and in the deliver of care and service. We are interested in feedback to ensure that our service is continually reviewed and refined in line with the best practice and resident choice. There are a number of ways in which sharing of views and participation in the consultation process can take place:
The Resident Committee meets every month in the Day Room, the Committee members will also visit residents in their room. The Director of Nursing meets with the committee prior to the resident meeting to update them on resident changes and also to inform them of any request received for advocacy services.
All residents are invited to participate. This is a structured meeting which allows for open and honest communication about any comments or concerns you may have. The meeting is minuted and shared with all residents. In addition, comments are discussed with the management to address issues raised and formulate an action plan.
